He earned his undergraduate degree from Boston College before pursuing his medical education at Rutgers University Medical School in Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Curran completed his Internal Medicine residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He then pursued advanced subspecialty training through a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at the Medical University of South Carolina, gaining expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of both blood disorders and all types of cancer.

"I have come know each and every person involved in my care , we are on first name basis and what was initially a very dark and frightening experience they have turned into somthing I actually don't mind going through while it may sound strange it is a fact. The nurses all are very good at what they do and they make you feel as if you are in the very best hands and care you can get. I do however wish I could get more time with my actual doctor, o feel like the time dpent with my doctor is a bit scant, and I always have questions that I feel like don't get answered because the vist is so short. I actually feel like I can speak more openly to my nurse practitioner (ms ray) who is always willing to listen and answer any of my questions . I'm sure doctor currin is a very busy man but I'm a patient who needs to know that my course of treatments are actually working and I fell like my doctor should be there more often to let me know that it is actually working or not working if that be the case.overall I'm very greatful that I was sent to carolina oncology specialist for my care. If I had a choice to go elsewhere I would not go somewhere else as I ferl I'm in the best carei could possibly get."
